It sounds simple, but implementing the idea in an analog watch has never been done before. Most of us sleep 7-9 hours, but the timing varies. That’s called chronotype, and according to Russell Foster’s Life Time, about 10% are early birds, 25% are night owls, and the rest fall somewhere in between. We believe your watch should reflect your own unique rhythm.

The Right Approach to Time
Designing a watch to match different sleep patterns presented two options: rotate the sleep section or rotate the dial. The first resulted in an asymmetrical look that just didn’t look right. The second, however, kept things balanced. By fixing the sleep section and rotating the dial, the middle of the day landed exactly in the middle of the watch. Simple, intuitive, perfect.
Time That Fits Your Life
Merivian is therefore the only watch where the middle of your day is truly in the middle of the watch. Because, honestly, 12 o’clock isn’t anyone’s real midpoint. Our daily rhythms are personal, so the way time is represented should be too.
With Merivian, your watch dial is a reflection of your life. It helps you to follow a regular sleep rhythm, see the big picture, and make the most of every day.
